Hope your friend likes it, lmk what his thoughts are and how he looks in it c:

What do you think? Does he wear it well?
no subject
It's amazing what confidence and posture can do for an outfit
So yes, he's wearing it more than well for sure :o
no subject
I admit, I had a touch of doubt when I first saw it in person...
But I wish you had been here to see the way his eyes lit up, when he saw it for the first time. You'd think that he was given something more precious than gold...
As I mentioned, he has a particular eye for things. As you'd expect from an artist, I suppose...

I'm assuming you gave them to Tifa-san, then? Did she enjoy them?
[ Not that she wants to pry too much, but surely he can slide at least a few details her way, can't he? Come on, be a pal-- ]
no subject
and yeah, she did. she liked them a lot.
they're not very common where we were before.
no subject
Where I come from, it's simply a way of referring to someone more politely.
You don't usually call someone by their given name alone, unless you're rather close with them...
It's just an "etiquette" thing, I suppose.
More importantly, though, I'm so glad that they stayed intact!
You mentioned that you didn't see many where you come from...
I'm happy that you were able to deliver them while they still had their color.
Have things been going well for her, and her bar?

Quite a pleasant surprise, to hear from you tonight...
[ Though it's a curt enough opener that she has to wonder whether it's a call for fun, or for "urgent business," as it were... ]
Have you been well, since we last spoke?

( it takes a moment before another message comes through: she's not used to this. )
This is Ningguang. My apologies for the sudden intrusion.
no subject
I take it that means my letter found you well, then?
[ It took a bit of clever maneuvering, to get that in there..! Especially in such a way that the petals would be kept intact... ]
I have far more familiarity with planting and growing them than I do with their symbolism, I must admit.
Carnations, in particular, seem to have a number of different meanings...
But from my understanding, they tend to represent fascination, or eminence. And white ones, in particular, seem to indicate purity, and good fortune.
Throw in a spot of red, for "admiration"...
And that about sums up my intended sentiments.
no subject
A very enjoyable letter and gift.
That begs the question...What sort of admiration are we speaking of?

action, surprise
Finally, after what feels like hours, Avenger loudly clears her throat, offering more than a grunt or one-word response for the first time all afternoon. ]
Hey. Do you... [ before trailing off into a muttered, ] ... nevermind.
[ But the floodgates refuse to shut now that she's broken the silence. Just a few minutes later, looking like she might explode from embarrassment, she abruptly shouts: ]
Flower girl! You're coming on a date with me! A date! D-A-T-E! [ A brief pause, her expression changing from "flustered anger" to "genuine shock" over the course of a few seconds. ] ... Oh. I actually said it.
[ Cough. ]
Ahem. ... A-anyway, it doesn't have to be right now. I mean, I'm sure you'll need time to prepare yourself, right? Lots of time! After all, a da... day out with an Avenger is like confronting a nightmare! No, a hundred nightmares! A thousand! S-so...! [ End her. ]
for me? you shouldn't have
She had been curious, what had Avenger in such a mood: it's very much not like her to clam up so hard, when something is on her mind. On a normal day, Jeanne Alter is all too eager to rant and rave about any given "slight" against her, no matter how trivial...and entertaining her has become something of a routine for Haru, as though the two of them have their own little private manzai, bouncing back and forth for their own sake. The silence (and this terseness, short and stone) is foreign, and it had Haru wondering if she'd perhaps done something wrong...or, failing that, that whatever was running through her mind was actually rather severe.
It isn't as though she didn't have faith that Jeanne Alter would find her words eventually: somehow or another, she always does. But Avenger was clearly not in the mood for Haru to press her on the subject, and so, it had sit, and stewed in the air, lingering like the smell of the brew.
Considering that, she can't keep the surprise out of her eyes when the actual cause of the atmosphere in here rears its head, and Jeanne Alter suddenly asks... ]
When you put it like that, do I truly have a choice?
[ Not that she would refuse, either way. After all, they've basically been going on "dates" together for the past few months now: sharing coffee, getting a quick bite to eat. But Haru usually takes the initiative with those, which is perhaps where the difference lies. Here, it seems as though Jeanne Alter has something planned...which is also foreign, but not in a way that has Haru worried. Rather, her interest is piqued. ]
I would be happy to go whenever you'd like. [ Though she would prefer the chance to get changed and prepare just a little bit...but Avenger is characteristically and categorically impatient, and she knows it. ] Did you have somewhere in mind, then? It's not like you to invite me out...
[ Not that it was an invitation so much as it was a statement, but, she'll let it slide. ]
no subject
Not that a single date is a commitment, really, but what if she wants more? What if she already does, and just won't admit it to herself? How long until she ruins the best thing she has here — the only good thing she has, so far away from the one other person she's ever trusted? Every step brings her closer to the edge of the cliff, but she can't stop walking towards her own demise. ]
Hmph! So because it's not LIKE me, that means I can't do it? How rude! [ Unsurprisingly, she's feeling extra combative right now. Sorry Haru. ] OTHER people go on dates all the time! You think I haven't seen any? Or read about them? I'm perfectly capable of something so basic!
[ Taking a deep breath, she attempts to calm herself back down, with only partial success. Her voice grows more steady, but her pale skin can do nothing to disguise the blush still dusting it. ]
... I'm in the mood for something harder than coffee tonight. And since drinking alone is a bore, you're coming with me. [ It occurs to her that she doesn't know Haru's exact age, beyond looking slightly older than Ritsuka, and she hesitates. ] You're old enough, right? ... Eh, doesn't matter.
[ Enabling (and participating in) underage drinking is hardly the worst thing she's done, and it's not like IDs are really a thing here. ]
It's still early, so I'll be back later. [ Standing up from her seat, Avenger summons all her focus to walk to the cafe door, and not run out of it at top speed... but she manages, pausing briefly as she exits. ] ... Oh, and don't worry about money. I'll obviously be paying for both of us.
[ "Obviously", like it isn't literally the first time she's ever offered. Maybe even Jeanne Alter has some sense of proper date etiquette. ]

[ Hm. 'Tis the season, isn't it? ]
If we're speaking of my greatest fear...
That would probably be something along the lines of losing my way?
That is to say, I don't want to be the person I was last year.
[ Particularly not a year ago to the date. ]
Or, were you looking for something to try and scare me with?
You should know that I'm good with horror!
no subject
I wondered if it might be something like that. Not wanting to find yourself on a path you don't want to walk.
Where is your path taking you now?

→ DELIVERY | DECEMBER 25th
Inside the various boxes, Haru will find a cute coat-dress, a set of cute earmuffs, and a handwritten note.]
Miss Okumura —
I can't promise I won't be indisposed at the time you receive these. I hope I'm not. But out of an abundance of caution, I'm setting this up in advance, to be sure that my intentions are ultimately carried out even if I'm not up to it come the actual day.
I'm certain that a young woman as intelligent, charming, and vivacious as you will receive plenty of attention and admiration on a holiday such as this one. Please accept these gifts as a token of my esteem. I hope you don't find the selection presumptuous, and that you will find suitable occasion to wear them.
I have been assured that they are "so cute I'm gonna die". Please do your part to avoid any unnecessary fatalities.
Regards,
M. Edgeworth
